I enjoy playing guitar and banjo, singing and performing with others, and writing and co-writing songs. Music as a therapeutic intervention was instrumental in my decision to study psychology many years ago. As a young person, I volunteered in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, juvenile detention facilities, and boys & girls clubs, by singing, playing and teaching songwriting as a therapeutic means of self-expression. Seeing the positive impact these expressive and creative activities had on kids in need, strongly influenced my decision to pursue psychology as a career.
Currently, as a guitarist and songwriter I volunteer through the Visiting Nurses Association of Guilford, Connecticut, to provide bedside music therapy for people in hospice.
I’ve recorded two albums of my original songs, Under the Sky (2016) and most recently, Gems of Imperfection (2018). Both recordings can be previewed through CDbaby.
